Turn your food obsession into a great job. The very best Produce staff really like food and get how fruits and vegetables get from the farm to the plate.
Our Produce Coordinator is the slimy goo that makes the department run smoothly and makes complicated activities look effortless. The right candidate will work closely with, but on a mostly opposite schedule, the Produce Manager. The shared oversight of the department includes tons of direct work with customers, placing and receiving orders and miraculously fixing problems before they happen. No pressure.
The position has many parts, including supervisor, prophet, organizer and artist. Must see how other departments fit and work together with everyone to sell. Also needs to be able to see how the Produce department looks and works as a whole, never getting stuck on one section of task.
The successful candidate must be versatile and experienced in a broad range of retail skill sets as well as possess a desire to teach, mentor, and learn. Priorities in this position include growing sales, improving operations of the department and putting out the best available product every day.
Typical shifts are from 6:00am - 2:30pm and 2:00pm - 9:30pm. The Produce Coordinator works at least one day each weekend (currently Saturday) and must use their powers for good, not evil. This is a full time with very little overtime. Benefits include a 20% employee discount, medical insurance (employee cost about $50 per month), dental insurance and more.
